Turning a Simple Email Into a Client-Readiness Machine
Last week, we talked about the Endless Customers approach: answering your clients’ most pressing questions before they have to ask.
This week, I’m showing you what that looks like in my own practice, starting with the very first email a new lead gets from me.
The “Before” Email: Fine, but Forgettable
Here’s the email I used to send when someone booked a consultation:
[Name], your consultation with Lester Law has been scheduled.
When: [Date] at [Time] MDT
Where: Over the phone, we’ll call you at the start time.
What to Expect During the consultation, we will…
Discuss your goals for your estate plan
Get your questions answered about the process and
Discuss which affordable service will best meet your needs
How to Prepare You can get the most out of your consultation by completing the following ahead of time:
Gather any existing documents you have
Write down your questions
Think about your goals
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please reply to this email immediately. If you do not answer the phone or call us back within 5 minutes of your scheduled time, the consultation will be canceled, and you may be charged a fee to reschedule.
We appreciate your consideration, but please remember that Lester Law does not currently represent you.
It wasn’t wrong…but it also didn’t do much to:
Set expectations clearly
Help clients prepare in a meaningful way
Filter out the “just shopping” crowd
